Campus Safety discovered an oven on in the Community Kitchen. The oven was set to the highest temperature. The oven was turned off. This has happened on several occasions.

Campus Safety responded to the Canaday library break room kitchen for a report of property damage. Ceiling tiles had fallen as a result of a pipe leak. Facilities was notified.

There were no other significant incidents to report

Campus Safety transported a student to the hospital for severe stomach pains.

Campus Safety responded to Brecon and received information that a person had attempted to enter several doors in the early morning hours and spilled an unknown liquid on the floor at the time. The student was identified and it was determined that the student has a history of sleep walking. 

Wednesday, Jan. 18 | 4:39 a.m. | Animal Incident | Denbigh

A student reported that a mouse caught in a glue trap managed to escape through a crack in the floor. Facilities request submitted.  

Thursday, Jan. 19 | 3:39 p.m. | Safety Hazard | Park Science

鈥嬧嬧嬧嬧婣 faculty member and student report that a hot plate began to click and smoke. The hot plate was unplugged, and facilities advised.

A local driver reported almost striking a dog while driving on Roberts Rd. A 老王论坛 employee stayed with the dog until Lower Merion Pd responded to take custody of the animal.

Campus Safety discovered a toaster oven on while locking the building down. The toaster oven was turned off by the Campus Safety member.

Campus Safety responded for a report of a marijuana odor. The student in the room of the odors source denied smoking but said that they had been burning incense.  

Saturday, Jan. 21 | 12:35 a.m. | Suspicious Circumstances | Denbigh

Campus safety responded to Denbigh for a report from an Erdman HA that a Denbigh resident had ingested drugs. The student could not be located nor did any of the HA鈥檚 or residents know about the student. The Erdman HA refused to provide any further information about the student鈥檚 identity. The HA stated that they would monitor the student overnight.

Campus Safety responded to Denbigh for a report of a student that was experiencing 鈥渃omplications鈥 from ingesting marijuana edibles. The student was reported to be hallucinating and incoherent through the night. After assessment it was determined that the student was able to be transported to 老王论坛 hospital via Campus Safety.

Campus Safety responded for a report of a student having seizures. The student was found to be coherent upon arrival. The students mother arrived and took the student home to rest.

Campus Safety transported a student to their dorm who reported feeling nauseous after drinking. It was determined that the student did not need further medical evaluation.

Campus Safety responded for a report of a fire alarm. There was no sign of smoke in the indicated rooms.

A Haverford College student was transported by ambulance to 老王论坛 hospital after suffering severe abdominal pain.

A college employee was transported to the hospital by ambulance after he was found to be disoriented and unable to answer questions.

A smoke alarm was activated by the use of an Air Fryer in a room. The alarm was reset, and room ventilated.

Campus Safety was notified that a 老王论坛 student was transported by ambulance to the hospital form Haverford鈥檚 campus for alcohol intoxication.

Campus Safety responded to a smoke alarm and discovered that there was an odor of marijuana and light smoke in the air. The room was unoccupied at the time. The resident was later contacted and advised of the college rules on smoking in dorm rooms.

A student called 911 after observing a vehicle drift onto the sidewalk and found the driver to be unresponsive. The driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Campus Safety discovered graffiti and signs on a wall of the library while on patrol.

Campus Safety responded to Merion at the request of Res. Life to check the status of a student. The student was found to be okay but was having issues with one of her classes. They were offered assistance through counseling services.

Campus Safety responded to Radnor to check on a student at the request of Health Services. The student was contacted and had been sleeping.

Campus Safety responded for a report of student concerns for a class mate that had ingested some edibles. The student was located and appeared coherent.  They declined treatment and agreed to stay with a friend.

Campus Safety removed a mouse from a room after being contacted by a student鈥檚 parents.

Campus Safety booted a vehicle for numerous unpaid citations.

Following the report of an ammonia leak in Park Science the building was evacuated and Montgomery County Haz Mat teams and 老王论坛 Fire company responded. The leak was contained, and the building was cleared for access a few hours later.

Campus Safety transported a student to the hospital at their request for abdominal pain.

Campus Safety responded to the report of a fire alarm. The occupant of the room stated that they had sprayed air freshener near the detector.

A student reported an encounter with an unidentified female in the dining hall where the student was using a shoe as a phone and had mashed food up with her bare hands as well as other unusual behaviors before leaving. Campus Safety was notified hours after the original incident.

Campus Safety responded to Erdman to check on the well being of a student at the request of their friend. The student appeared okay and said they would contact their friend.

Campus Safety and the EMS team responded to a report of an intoxicated student. The student was deemed to not need further care after evaluation by the medics. 

Saturday, Feb. 11 | 4:12 p.m. | Psychiatric Emergency | Wellness Center

Campus safety found a student in distress after responding to a call from an emergency phone. The student became verbally aggressive and began swinging their keys and Campus Safety personnel. The student entered a campus safety vehicle and began to spray Lysol into the face of a staff member. The person exited the vehicle and entered a passing Uber. Lower Merion Police and Narberth ambulance responded and transported the student to the hospital for evaluation after she attempted to assault and spray them.

Campus Safety found that a student had been cooking food on a hot plate after responding to a fire alarm activation.

Campus Safety responded to check the well-being of a student after several loud noise were heard coming from their room. The student stated that they were practicing fencing and were okay.

Campus Safety assisted staff in disposing of a firearm that had been donated by an alum approximately 40 years ago. Lower Merion police took custody of the item.

A student reported the odor of cigarette smoke in the dorm. Campus Safety located the source of the odor. There were no students in the room at the time.

A student reports that she found her room door ajar last weekend after returning from a retreat. She has since discovered several items of clothing and some make-up missing from her room.

A student worker reported that a male entered the building and said he was looking for his sister. She believed that he was homeless. The male left without incident. Campus safety secured the building.

Campus Safety transported a student at their request to the hospital for stomach issues. 

Wednesday, March 15 | 2:38 a.m. | Suspicious Circumstance | Wyndham 

A student was found in the building after being escorted from the building when it was closed. The student stated that they had been studying. A staff member later told Campus Safety that the student could utilize the space to study after hours.   

Wednesday, March 15 | 11:33 p.m. | Assist Student | Rhoads 

Campus Safety responded to Rhoads for a student in distress. The student was upset about a rejection letter from another college. The student recovered and was offered resources but declined at the time.

An Athletics coach reports damage to a wheel on a mobile goal. It is unknown how the damage occurred.  

Thursday, March 16 | 7:59 p.m. | Marijuana | Merion Green 

An RLC reported that students on Merion Green dropped a small amount of marijuana as she approached during the WTF activities. The marijuana was turned over to Campus Safety and disposed of.

A student was transported to the hospital at their request after twisting their ankle.  

Friday March 17 | 2:21 p.m. | Lost Property | Merion Green  

A student reports losing a tote bag containing their credit cards and ID during WTF activities on the Green.  

Friday March 17 | 11:47 p.m. | Intoxication | Merion 

A student was transported by ambulance to the hospital for alcohol intoxication following evaluation by student EMT鈥檚. 

Sunday, March 19 | 11:22 p.m. | Facilities Notification | Radnor 

Facilities on-call responded for water leaking through a light fixture. It was determined that a third floor shower drain was clogged. The stall was placed out of service until further repairs could be made. 

Monday, March 20 | 1:21 a.m. | Psychiatric Emergency | Pem East 

A student requested transport to the hospital for suicidal thoughts. There was not attempt by the student to harm themselves.

The student was evaluated by ambulance personnel and determined that they did not require further medical intervention. The student was transported by Campus Safety to their dorm where they stayed with friends for the rest of the evening.

The incident originated when the classmates told the other student that they did not want contact with her or to attend the Taylor Swift concert with her. A dining services supervisor reports that a laptop was removed from a cabinet in the supervisor鈥檚 office. The laptop had been previously used by a terminated employee and was found to be missing a few days after they left the college.

Staff reports that a male tried entering the building on the previous day requesting to install candy vending machines. The male was observed looking at the playground and tennis courts after being denied. He was last seen leaving in a red sedan.

An alum was transported by a private party to the hospital for injuries to their face after her wheel chair hit a concealed open drain and she fell from her wheelchair.

An alum was transported to the hospital via ambulance after falling and hitting their head. It is unknown how they fell.

An alum was treated for an abrasion to her arm after she had fallen while walking with a cane.

Campus Safety responded for a report of a bat flying around the first floor. The bat was safely captured and released outside.

Damage to inground electrical and irrigation boxes was discovered by a staff member. The covers were destroyed and multiple landscaping rocks were placed in the boxes.

A student reported the theft of a package from the Campus Center. The actor who stole the item was identified through video and staff identification and ultimately admitted to the theft.
