Our Mission

ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ is dedicated to keeping the campus a secure and healthy place to live, work, and study. The mission of the Department of Campus Safety is to provide a caring, safe, and welcoming environment for the college community and to enhance the well-being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and to protect college property. The success of this mission depends upon a true partnership between Campus Safety personnel and the diverse population of the college community – a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, and responsibility that encourages a sense of communal concern for each other’s safety and well-being.

Our Focus

• Safety education and crime prevention programs
• Fire prevention and emergency response training
• Late-night student transportation/escort services (the "Lantern Van" or "Lantern Shuttle" service)
• Referrals to other campus resources
• Transporting students with medical crises
• Responding to campus emergencies or requests for assistance all day, every day
• Providing self-defense training to those interested
• Parking program management
• Tracking crime and providing transparency by making reports of campus incidents and crime statistics available
