Assistive Technology: Features and Resources

Assistive technology is any tool that assists you in doing your daily activities. At ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳, you can meet with the assistive technology specialist to find tools to help you with academic tasks. Explore some of our resources on this page.  

Assistive Technology Tools

Reading 

  •  Helperbird is a Google Chrome extension that provides tools to help with reading websites and PDFs, as well as features to help with writing and studying. 
  • : Immersive Reader reads emails, documents, and other material aloud, allows you to modify how text appears, and provides language translation features. 
  • : The Natural Reader Online Reader allows you to upload a variety of file types (.doc, .pdf, .ppt, to name a few) to have them read aloud.  
  • : The Natural Reader extension reads websites and emails aloud. 

Writing 

  • : Grammarly is a grammar checker.
