Haverford College

Our Bi-College agreement with Haverford makes registering for Haverford courses a seamless experience. Please follow the process you would use to register for any ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ course.

Swarthmore College

Swarthmore will begin registering students for Fall 2024 in August.  All questions regarding registration status, should be directed to the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Registrar's Office at registrar@brynmawr.edu.

Swarthmore Spring Semester dates: Jan 21-May 2, 2025
Pre-Registration: November 18-20
Add/Drop Period Ends: February 7
Classes Begin: January 21
Classes End: May 2
Final Exams: May 8 - May 15.

Swarthmore Fall Semester: Sept 3-Dec. 11, 2024.
ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ students' last day to add a course is Monday, September 16, 2024.
Last day of exams at Swarthmore: 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 21, 2024. (Final examinations are not rescheduled to accommodate travel plans.)  

Step 1: Register for SWAT 999
Declare your intention to enroll in a Swarthmore class by enrolling in the SWAT 999 placeholder course. Once your registration is approved by Swarthmore, this course will be replaced by the actual course you are taking. Students who do not register for SWAT 999 may experience a delay in finalizing registration.

Spring 2025:
Register for Class Number 2966 for your first course.
Register for Class Number 2967if you plan to enroll in a second course.
Register for Class Number 2968 if you have received permission to register for a third course.

Step 2: Contact Instructor for Course Permission—form available here. Students, please PRINT out this form and sign it and then scan/take a photo of it and email to the Swarthmore instructor.

Step 3: Permission and Registration
Forward the form with permission from the instructor to both the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ and Swarthmore Registrars' Offices (registrar@brynmawr.edu and registrar@swarthmore.edu). You will then hear from your home school Registrar about your enrollment.  Please direct any questions to your home school.  Please do not contact Swarthmore unless you are a Swarthmore student. 

Applies to All Non-Linguistics Courses

Since the Linguistics department at Swarthmore is part of the TriCo Linguistics department, students may register for the course directly in BiONiC. Your registration will be sent directly to Swarthmore. If your registration is not accepted due to over-enrollment (or any other factor) you will be notified of the results. If you don't see a Linguistics course in BiONiC that is being offered, please let the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Registrar's Office know. [Cross-listed courses should use the non-Linguistics form here and sent to both the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ and Swarthmore Registrars' Offices (registrar@brynmawr.edu and registrar@swarthmore.edu).]

Once you have the Swarthmore ASL course instructor's permission, please send the complete Swarthmore ASL course permission form, .

Registration is not complete until you return the emailed permission to both Registrars' Offices by February 7, 2025.

After submitting this form if you decide to drop any Swarthmore course, please notify the Registrar’s office at both institutions.

Swarthmore's  is not the same as ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳. Please make sure you review when Swarthmore classes start and end (often this is the day before ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ starts classes) and if they are changing their meeting schedule during the semester to make up missed days.   

ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ students taking classes at Swarthmore will receive an email with a user name and password to log in to  site.

University of Pennsylvania

ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ students may enroll in courses at Penn as guest students through an agreement called the Quaker Consortium.

Spring 2025 Key Dates:

  • Classes at Penn begin on January 20, 2025.
  • The last day to add or drop a Penn course is January 29, 2025.
  • A seat in a Penn course is never guaranteed. As always, have a backup course planned, and the Bryn Mawr Honor Code is in effect.
  • Penn final exams will be May 5-13, 2025. ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳'s Senior Grade Deadline is Monday, May 12, 2025, at 12 noon.
  • Penn's Academic calendar can be found .

 

Fall 2024 Key Dates:

  • Classes at Penn begin on August 27, 2024.
  • The last day to add or drop a Penn course is September 10, 2024.
  • A seat in a Penn course is never guaranteed. As always, have a backup course planned, and the Bryn Mawr Honor Code is in effect.
  • Penn final exams will be December 12-19, 2024.

Submit a completed  for approval (form open on November 11, 2024, and will close on January 10, 2025).  [No paper forms accepted â€“ students may only submit the online form].  Please check for restrictions and special approval requirements within Path@Penn in advance and confirm seat availability at  before submitting requests. Forms will be submitted to Penn by December 1, 2024. No action will be taken until/after December 1, 2024, on these requests.

Per Penn's policy, Quaker Consortium students may only take courses not offered at their home institution. Please read Penn's full .

  • The  Agreement is undergoing revisions. We will post the update from Penn as soon as we receive it.
  • ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ students are allowed to enroll in undergraduate courses offered by the College of Liberal and Professional Studies, the Language Center, or the College of Arts and Sciences (courses numbered 0001-4999). 
  • ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ students do not have priority in Penn classes.  A seat in a Penn class is never guaranteed and students should always have a back up Tri-Co course in mind when planning their schedules.
  • Penn will begin processing registration requests starting DATE TBD. Students will start to receive emails about your course request status up through the start of the semester.
  • If you see "restrictions" on a course in Path@Penn, please read them carefully. If permission is required for the course, please follow the steps . Always include the fact that you are a "Quaker Consortium Student from ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳" in any correspondence with Penn. IMPORTANT: if you get a notification from Penn that you got permission for a course, please forward that email to the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Registrar's office [registrar@brynmawr.edu] immediately as permission in Penn courses is first-come, first-served, and does not reserve a seat for you. Note: Penn Instructors do not manage enrollment and can't help you with course permission, please do not reach out to them. Please direct any questions to the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Registrar's office. Please be aware that permission does not override capacity, so if the course is full, even if you have permission, you will not get a seat in the course.
  • If you are a ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ student who has accommodations and you want to receive accommodations at Penn, and you are enrolled in a Penn course, you will be able to access Penn's Disability Services. You will receive instructions from both ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ and Penn about this process once enrolled.

Students will receive and email with instructions regarding your Path@Penn, PennKey, and other next steps. If you receive login credentials, the student is responsible for checking to see if they are registered for the course they requested at Penn.  For any changes, adds/drops/withdrawals, ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ students must contact the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Registrar's office.

IMPORTANT: if you get a notification from Penn that you got permission for a course, please forward that email to the ÀÏÍõÂÛ̳ Registrar's office [registrar@brynmawr.edu] immediately as permission in Penn courses is first-come, first-served, and does not reserve a seat for you. You will be asked to provide various forms of contact information once your Penn student record is created. If you do not update this information, your course request will not be processed and you will go on "hold." are instructions for how to update your Required Contact Information.
