Green Grants are summer funds that support research, internships or field experience in environmental studies. Skylar interned at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC), in the molecular ecology lab under the mentorship of Dr. Melissa McCormick.
Skylar Livengood '24I鈥檝e been studying rapid evolution of invasive wetland reeds in response to global change factors to understand how marshal ecosystems will respond to predicted future elevated CO2 and nitrogen conditions.
