Dehumanization threatens our social structures as it can manifest itself in harmful narratives, policies, and practices in organizations. Our solution centers on culturally responsive healing practices (CRHP).
CRHP is based on the idea that cultural values, rituals, language, and sense of identity all contribute to restoring well-being and mental health. CRHP is a response to the impact that racial trauma and dehumanization have on an individual鈥檚 mental health. When leaders create safe and brave spaces to listen and learn and then respond by offering culturally specific and appropriate resources, healing occurs.
By integrating culturally responsive healing practices, leaders can better reflect and understand one another鈥檚 experiences, thus accelerating the growth journey of folks in their organization.

Kary A. With an expertise in racial justice and equity, organizational leadership, system re-designs and strategic thinking, Kary holds an M.S.W from Norfolk State University and a B.S in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University.
