This workshop, 鈥淓ssential Elements of Psychotherapy for Practice and for Writing Measurable Outcomes鈥, encompasses in a succinct format, the 鈥渁rt of psychotherapy鈥. Writing measurable outcomes is a skill, but in order to do that, clinicians must start with understanding and practicing fundamental psychotherapy skills. Doing so enables clinicians to then obtain the information they need to create person-centered, meaningful goals and objectives that result in measurable outcomes. This skill set helps clinicians assist clients to 鈥渟ituate where they are thinking鈥 about their problem. And by learning how to implement the Cognitive Domain Rating Scale, the clinician guides the client to what they want to work on, using any evidence based practice.
Participants will learn 1)Three essential skills for effective psychotherapy supported by researchers in the field; 2)The 6 cognitive domains of Bloom鈥檚 Taxonomy, the basis for the Cognitive Domain Rating Scale (CDRS); 3) How to write measurable outcomes using the skill set and the CDRS; and 4) How to reframe unrealized outcomes as 鈥渘ew鈥 information to help clients better 鈥渟ituate their thinking about their problem.鈥
This one-day workshop enables clinicians to forge ahead to write outcomes that will not just be to please funders, but will make for a hopeful and effective process for their client who will have a clear sense about their treatment and path to recovery
This is appropriate for anyone in private practice and any human service agency, e.g. inpatient and outpatient mental health, school social work, hospitals, etc.
