Instructor Biographies
Dr. Tiffenia D. Archie presently serves as the Assistant Vice President of the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL) at Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) where her goal is to help advance diversity and inclusion in all facets of the campus community. She first began working at Temple in 2007 as the inaugural Director of Faculty Recruitment and Retention, working closely with the Provost and Deans on faculty recruitment goals, before moving to the assistant vice presidency.
Dr. Archie has worked in higher education for nearly 25 years, previously serving as the Assistant Academic Dean at Albright College where she also served as an Affirmative Action representative on hiring committees. She also teaches courses in sociology, including Introduction to Sociology; Race and Racism; Race, Class, and Gender; Social Problems and Statistics. She helped design Temple University鈥檚 Graduate Certificate in Diversity Leadership, a collaboration between IDEAL and the College of Education and was in the first co-hort of certificate earners.
Dr. Archie earned her doctorate in Sociology at Temple University (Class of 2003) and also completed facilitator training with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI). She attended the Management Development Program (MDP) at Harvard University鈥檚 Graduate School of Education.
Dr. Archie was the 2010 Recipient of the Outstanding Leader in Education Award presented by the Association of Black Women in Higher Education and is currently a member of the Albright College Board of Trustees.
Dr. Darlyne Bailey is the Katherine E. McBride Professor Emeritus & Dean Emeritus of the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research of 老王论坛 and Founder & Executive Director of the Social Justice Initiative, what she describes as her "dream come true of making connections guided by love." Recognized in 2017 by the National Association of Social Workers Foundation as an 鈥淣ASW Social Work Pioneer," an honored recipient of the 2021 NASW-PA 鈥淧hyllis Black Lifetime Achievement Award,鈥 and in 2024 as one of twelve Inductees to the inaugural Hall of Fame of the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, Darlyne remains committed to utilizing individual, organizational, and community-level knowledge and skills to co-create socially just and multiculturally humble systems. In 2023, Darlyne was awarded one of the highest honors at 老王论坛, the Faculty McPherson Award for Excellence.
Fernando Chang-Muy is the Thomas O'Boyle Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law where he teaches Refugee Law. He also teaches Non profit Management at Penn鈥檚 Graduate School of Social Policy and Practice and in the Executive Development Program.
In addition to teaching, he combines his experience in academia and operations, as principal and founder of Solutions International, providing independent management consulting, facilitation and training to philanthropic institutions, non profit organizations and government entities. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, board governance, staff internal communications and performance, and resource development.
He has served as Legal Officer with both the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) and the UN World Health Organization (WHO), AIDS Program. Before joining the UN, he was a staff attorney at Community Legal Services in Philadelphia serving as Director of the Southeast Asian Refugee Project, providing free legal aid to low-income people in Philadelphia. He is also past founding director of the Liberty Center for Survivors of Torture, a project of Lutheran Children and Family Services, established to serve newcomers fleeing human rights violations.
He serves on the Boards of local public interest organizations, government, and foundations, including the Board of the Merchants Fund, the Wachovia Regional Foundation, and The Philadelphia Awards.In the summer of 2008, Philadelphia Mayor Nutter appointed him as a Commissioner to the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations. He is former Board member of the Delaware Valley Grantmakers, and Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Coalition. He is author of numerous articles on diverse topics dealing with immigration, public health and management, and is co-editor of the text Social Work and Immigration (NY: Springer Publication) published in October 2008.
Margie joined the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI) as Director in 2009 and retired from the role in 2023. She brings extensive experience in leadership education, program development, and program evaluation to her role. Margie acted as the lead designer of the curriculum of NELI's Executive Leadership Certificate program. She created the Ascending Leadership Certificate program in 2011 and developed NELI鈥檚 fee-for-service consulting practice in 2012.
Prior to her position at 老王论坛, for 11 years, Margie was the principal consultant in Creative Management Strategies, Inc., a firm which specializes in community planning and building the capacity of nonprofit organizations. She has a strong track record of effectively working with executives in public systems and nonprofit agencies and with community leaders to build coalitions focused on community change. Margie earned her doctoral degree in organizational development from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Quanisha Green, MSS comes to the Center for Professional Development with over 20 years of experience working in the social sector. She is an alum of GSSWSR and brings a wealth of social sector leadership development talent to the Associate Director position where she oversees the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI) programs.
Quanisha has also held various leadership roles in nonprofit organizations in the tri-state region building and coordinating their social, economic, and community development initiatives. Her work with these organizations affords her a unique insight into the opportunities and challenges that social workers, community and nonprofit leaders and their organizations face.
Danie is a full-time CFO consultant with 100 Degrees Consulting. She enjoys working on finances for nonprofits so that they can focus on what they do well: serving the greater good. With a background in nonprofit and socially responsible business, she believes that purpose-driven organizations can learn to use financial planning and strong financial systems to increase their effectiveness. She has worked for and consulted with nonprofits in multiple sectors and enjoys seeing the work grow and adapt over time. Danie has a PhD in Communication, Culture, and Media from Drexel University and a BA from University of Pennsylvania. She stays active in the local food scene in Philadelphia by shopping at farmers鈥 markets, cooking local food, and supporting a nonprofit she helped found that plants orchards around the city.
Carolyn is an Organizational Development Consultant, specializing in professional and personal coaching. She has used her highly developed consultative skills most recently as Director of Coaching and Mentoring for Abington - Jefferson Health System, while continuing to maintain an independent practice consisting of executive and personal coaching and training design and delivery.
As Director of Coaching and Mentoring for Abington - Jefferson Health System, her primary focus was to increase organizational capabilities and facilitate organizational transformation by building strong, collaborative relationships and partnerships with individuals, units and departments. She provided personalized coaching for individuals across all levels of the organization, and consulted across all disciplines regarding Patient and Employee Satisfaction, Performance Management, Change Management, and Team Building. She provided the infrastructure for and managed the development and integration of select projects and initiatives contributing to the hospital鈥檚 business needs and goals.
Carolyn also administered and delivered workshops for the Leadership Development Certificate program, the Supervisory Series program, and programs for individual contributors. Over the years, she has researched, developed and enhanced new and existing training programs using demonstrated skills in adult learning theory and program design and delivery. Her training delivery reflects her special style of interpersonal communication and engaging platform skills, developed through her work in psychology and theater. Her competencies in these areas are reflected in her ability to engage others in the learning process and to be sensitive to both individual and organizational needs and requirements.
Carolyn received a B.S.W. from California State University. She has completed graduate programs in 鈥淥rientation to Instructional Systems Design鈥 and 鈥淪ystematic Instructional Development鈥 at Penn State Great Valley, 鈥淭otal Quality Management鈥 at Widener University and 鈥淎dvanced Certificate in Culturally Competent Human Services鈥 at Temple University Multicultural Training and Research Institute. She holds certifications to deliver the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator庐 (a personality type indicator,) Skills Deployment Inventory (a conflict style indicator,) 鈥淒imensions of Diversity鈥 (a diversity model,) 鈥淭he Customer/Supplier Model鈥 (a Total Quality Management tool) and Project Management (Basics and Advanced.) Most recently, she completed Notre Dame鈥檚 Leadership and Management certificate program. Her affiliations include the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the Organization Development Network (ODN.)
Carolyn is the owner and principal of 鈥淟ife Design Strategies鈥 located in Pine Hill, New Jersey.
Reggie Jones (she/her/hers) is a college administrator, psychotherapist, and educator. She is currently the Associate Dean of Health & Wellness at 老王论坛 (BMC).
Through her private practice, Reggie provides psychotherapy, clinical supervision, consultation and offers workshops/trainings on trauma-informed practices, anti-racist literacy, and strategies to create queer affirming and healing-centered organizations.
Reggie is also a part-time lecturer at University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice. A feminist, anti-oppressive social work lens is embedded in her teaching. Empowering future social workers to interrogate what is believed to be known and cultivate curiosity to reclaim subjugated knowledge and alternative narratives/histories is foundational to her pedagogy.
Marcy Nyachogo recently joined the 老王论坛 Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research as the Director of Student & Career Services. Holding a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, Marcy is a licensed Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania, most recently serving as the Director of the Bilingual Domestic Violence Program at Lutheran Settlement House in Philadelphia.
Her 10-year history of advocacy with survivors of domestic violence includes roles in both direct service and program administration, with a specialization in the medical setting. As a nonprofit leader, Marcy centered humor, transparency, and coalition-building in her approach. Marcy has also shared her expertise as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Harcum College and Widener University, mentoring and educating future social work professionals.
Fluent in Spanish and certified as a Domestic Violence Advocate in the State of Pennsylvania, Marcy has also contributed to the social work community through publications as well as conference presentations on topics such as trauma-informed evaluation and research with domestic violence survivors. Marcy is passionate about creating spaces that support people to thrive and is excited to work with the GSSWSR students, faculty, and community.
Sarah Spath holds a Master of Social Service degree from the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research of 老王论坛, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Antioch University - Los Angeles. Sarah has worked in a variety of educator roles at the college level, including teaching writing courses and running a peer tutoring program; and in a variety of direct service roles in the human services sector, including as a peer supporter and psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner. She currently Chairs the Ferns Peer-Run Respite Council, the organization that has established the first peer-run respite in southeastern Pennsylvania. Sarah received the Dr. Kevin J. Robinson Award from the GSSWSR, an award that was established in memory of Dr. Robinson and his commitment to honesty, integrity, equality and fairness, and a commitment to social justice.
Andrea was the Director of Training at Temple University鈥檚 Intergenerational Center. She has a rich professional history as an educator, program developer, trainer and professional coach. She was the developer and director of Across Ages, an evidence-based youth mentoring approach to substance abuse prevention that was certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
She has provided consultation and training in youth development to numerous federal, state and local agencies including the U.S. Office of Minority Health, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as Institutions of Higher Education, school districts and departments of public health in over 40 states.
Andrea is currently the president of TaylorConsulting, LLC and provides services to government and non-profit agencies, colleges and universities on leadership development, research methodologies, program evaluation, fundraising and strategic planning.
She is certified as an Integral Coach by New Ventures West, which is a yearlong comprehensive International Coaching Federation ACTP certification program. She offers professional and life coaching through her coaching practice, Woman鈥檚 Encore, LLC. She holds both a Master鈥檚 degree in education and a Doctorate in Urban Policy and Planning from Temple University.
