What's happening at your internship? We would love to hear what kind of work you are doing!
As a summer intern who worked for two departments — the Wealth Management Center and the Venture Capital Financial Services Department — my primary roles and responsibilities were learning about all the work procedures and the information related to the products of the departments I worked for, assisting my mentors in collecting and sorting out customer-related materials, and contributing to the execution and maintenance of the diverse range of financial products.
Why did you apply for this internship?
I applied for this internship because of my interests in economics and mathematics, and my desire to pursue a major in the financial industry. Through this internship, I'm hoping to deepen my understanding of the financial sector and banking. I believe that hands-on experience would provide me with valuable insights into the practical aspects of finance.
What has been your favorite part of this internship?
My favorite part of this internship was the opportunity to be mentored by experienced professionals. Being assigned to a mentor, or even a group of mentors, allowed me to gain valuable insights into their daily workflow and provided a platform for me to ask questions and seek guidance. This mentorship aspect greatly enhanced my learning experience.
Can you talk about the skills you are learning and why they are important to you?
In addition to developing software skills like Microsoft Word and Excel, I believe that the most crucial skill I'm cultivating through my daily tasks is effective communication in professional settings.
