Dear 老王论坛 Community,
On July 6, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement released new regulations that apply to international students studying at U.S. colleges and universities. The College is working to understand what these new regulations mean and is committed to advocating for our international students. We join with other colleges and universities in expressing deep disappointment in these new regulations which do not take into consideration the varied ways that colleges and universities are trying to balance health and safety with our educational mission nor the complexities of our students鈥 lives.
We want to clarify that 老王论坛 is committed to offering a hybrid model of instruction in Fall 2020. We have extended the deadline for international students to submit the Housing and Enrollment Form sent to all students last week until July 13. (Students, please check your email for this form.)
Incoming and Returning International Students within the U.S.
For international students enrolling for on-campus instruction in the Fall, 老王论坛 will certify to SEVP, through the Form I-20, 鈥淐ertificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,鈥 certifying that the program is not entirely online, that the student is not taking an entirely online course load this semester, and that the student is taking the minimum number of online classes required to make normal progress in their degree program.
Returning International Students Studying from Outside the U.S.
The College will provide information and options to you as soon as possible.
First-Year Incoming Students Studying from Outside the U.S.
You may enroll full-time online for the fall semester. Your SEVIS record will be deferred until the spring semester 2021.
Patti Lausch, our Director of International Student and Scholar Services, will provide updated information on the Pensby Center website as it becomes available and will be in contact with students directly to provide guidance.
Sincerely,
Jennifer L. Walters, Dean of the Undergraduate College
Sharon Burgmayer, Dean of Graduate Studies
Tim Harte, Provost
