Highlights from the Fall and Winter Athletics Season

The 老王论坛 Owls had a great fall and start to the winter season, setting new milestones and breaking records for the College. Here are some highlights from the teams and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC):

Fall Sports

  • Seven Owls competed in the NCAA Metro Regional Championship to place 14th overall for the second straight year.
  • Earned seventh place at the Centennial Conference Championships on October 28.

  • .
  • Reached a 12-7 overall record, 6-4 in the conference.
  • Reba Ervin '25 and Eva Yacura '25 were named to both the NFHCA All-Region Teams and the Centennial All-Conference Teams.

  • Traveled to Boston, Mass., to compete in the Head of the Charles during their non-traditional season.
  • .

  • Sarah Lohrey '25 presented her research on November 8, entitled 鈥淎rithmetic Progressions of Integers that are Relatively Prime to their Digital Sums.鈥
  • Maddie Cohen '24 presented her research on December 6, entitled "A Proposed Athletic Facility Addition for 老王论坛.鈥

  • Went undefeated in their non-traditional season.
  • Earned a shutout (9-0) against Rutgers-Camden.

  • Earned non-conference wins over the University of Valley Forge (3-0), Bryn Athyn (3-0), and Rosemont College (3-1).
  • Led this season by first-year Emma Loller '27 who now holds the second-highest number of service aces in a single season by an individual Owl (9).

Winter Sports

  • Started their season on November 9 with an 84-53 win over Valley Forge, breaking into the College record books for the highest number of points ever scored by a team in an individual game.
  • Broke a College Record for the most 3-pointers made in an individual game (12) on November 9.
  • Cameron Richter '27 scored a career-high of five 3-pointers against Muhlenberg and now holds the top spot in the College records for the best 3-point field goal percentage (0.438).
  • In their home game against Johns Hopkins on November 30, the Owls led the scoreboard after the first quarter for the first time in program history. Hopkins went on to win the game 67-39.

  • Won their tri-meet against Cedar Crest (167-77) and Lebanon Valley (173-58).
  • Hosted their first meet of the season on November 3 in a Centennial Conference match-up against Ursinus.
  • In their meet at Drew on December 1 and December 2, the Owls broke three school records, and multiple athletes also broke into the top 10 fastest times in their individual events. 

  • Senior Caroline Robertson '24 (Cross Country and Track & Field) presented her senior thesis on December 5, entitled "Next Stops: Safety and Culture in American Public Transportation" for the Growth and Structure of Cities department.

Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

The 老王论坛 is an organization of scholar-athlete leaders who represent the best interests of the scholar-athlete experience at 老王论坛, within the Centennial Conference, and within the NCAA Division III. SAAC is dedicated to promoting excellence in academics and athletics, sportsmanship, citizenship, and volunteerism while serving as a liaison between the College's scholar-athletes, the athletic administration, and the broader community. 

  • The SAAC raised $1,600 during the month of October for "Living Beyond Breast Cancer"
  • The SAAC held a holiday food drive from November 18 to December 16. Donations go to the Ardmore Food Pantry.
