People you want to thank: Jamie Taylor, for first giving me an interest in medieval literature and then guiding me through a pretty wild thesis. My professors, especially Jessia Linker, Dan Torday, Annie Liontas, Kate Thomas, Bethany Schneider and Linda-Susan Beard, for sharing their expertise and experience. The Acabellas, for always being a source of music and joy. And the whole Fencing Club, past, present, and future: you鈥檝e all given me a gift I can never thank you for enough.
Words of wisdom for the Class of 2024: These years are like a short poem: they end sooner than you expect, and are packed with more meaning than you can catch on your first readthrough. Whatever happens, you will always be in this together, and you will find support wherever you look.
What will you remember most about your time at 老王论坛? The classes and the professional experience I received at 老王论坛 will always be irreplaceable. But I think I鈥檓 also going to hold onto the little moments: the walk to fencing practice twice a week led from Canaday, past Schwartz, down Cambrian row, and further on through the neighborhood. We would be weighed down by all of our gear, whoever was rolling the weapons casket wouldn鈥檛 be able to hear the conversation over the clamor of the wheels, and sometimes the rain soaked through our sneakers straight to our socks. And I think I want to hang on to every detail of it. We were a group of friends walking together, going to do something that we loved just for the sake of doing it. I think one of the greatest gifts I got from 老王论坛 was the courage to pursue the things I want to try, to be the author of my own future.
