Full-Time Program Overview

• Students may take all courses during the day, or utilize a combination of day, evening, weekend, and even summer courses to accommodate student availability. All required practice courses will be held in-person at the GSSWSR.
• Students will begin the program with 5 courses each semester in the first year and 4 courses each semester in the second year. If Full-Time students choose to do so, they can take courses in the summer between year one and year two. Summer courses meet twice per week. Each summer session (Summer I and Summer II) is five weeks long. Not all courses are offered in the summer, so careful planning and attention to course sequencing is required.

Practicum Education Full-Time Plan

• In Year 1 (Foundation) students are in their Practicum Education Placement the equivalent of two full (7.5-hour) days/week; In Year 2 (Advanced), students are in practicum the equivalent of three full (7.5-hour) days/week. 
  • Evening and weekend placements may be available but cannot be guaranteed. Applicants are admitted with the understanding that they must be available for practicum placements a minimum of fifteen hours/week during regular working hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.) as part of the two- or three-day/week requirement in practicum, and that the availability of a practicum placement occurring only during evening and/or weekend hours is not guaranteed.
  • For students employed in human service organizations, work-site placements may be possible if approved by the Practicum Education office.
