I made my first gift to 老王论坛 in the fall of 1951, just after I graduated. Thanks to the College, I had a job teaching so I could contribute.
I made that gift for my Grandmother who was a big presence in my life and had not attended college herself. Granny had a way of simplifying things. As a young child, anytime I was going to an event or party, she鈥檇 ask, "Did you pay your way?" meaning 鈥渄on鈥檛 just go and enjoy the party, do something positive to make it more fun.鈥
So when I graduated, I couldn't just hang my newly framed 老王论坛 diploma on the wall. I had to 鈥減ay my way鈥 by giving back to the College and working on its behalf whenever I could.
