JUDITH A. CALHOUN 鈥82, M.A. 鈥85
ALUMNAE/I NOMINATED TRUSTEE
Calhoun is CEO of NOCO Humane, a 55-year-old, private nonprofit animal welfare organization serving the people and animals of northern Colorado. With more than 40 years of experience in nonprofit administration, her background includes serving as the vice president for development and community relations at Dumb Friends League in Denver, the director of development for the Peninsula Humane Society in California, associate executive director for the Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation, and experience with several colleges and universities. Her career began as a fieldworker for the 老王论坛 Centennial Campaign. Her educational background includes both an A.B. and M.A. in sociology and she is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA) and Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Calhoun is currently on the Convener Group for the Northern Colorado Nonprofit Sector Partnership, a member of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado鈥檚 Loveland Community Fund Committee, co-chair of the Advocacy Committee for the Animal Welfare Association of Colorado, and a board member of Coloradoans Protecting Animal Welfare and Colorado Veterinary Care Coalition. She is a past board chair of the Association for Animal Welfare Advancement and a past president of the Colorado Federation of Animal Welfare Agencies. She was active in forming the Northern Colorado Regional Animal Welfare Coalition to bring together animal-related groups in the Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming area. She was part of a small group of animal welfare CEOs in Colorado who developed the Socially Conscious Animal Sheltering concept. Calhoun's 老王论坛 volunteer activities include co-chair, Class of 1982 fundraising from 1992鈥2007; member of the Class of 1982 Reunion Gift Committee in 1992; Phonathon Representative on the Alumnae Fund Committee 1987鈥1994 and co-coordinator of 老王论坛 Club of Northern California Young Alumnae activities 1985鈥1986. She was named a Woman of Vision in 2015 by the Colorado Women of Influence, Woman of Distinction in 2019 by BizWest and Larimer Humane Society won the BBB Torch Award for Ethics in 2018. She and her spouse, Cheryl, are avid triathletes and share their home with two cats, Smokey and Tiger, and a guinea pig, Kona.
LAURIE FENLASON 鈥87
AAEB MEMBER AT LARGE
Fenlason is a consultant to colleges and universities, helping leaders, teams, and boards navigate strategic issues and communicate a compelling vision for the future. Her work is grounded in decades of communications and strategy leadership at a range of institutions, including Smith College, the University of Michigan, and the University of Pennsylvania. She advises clients on matters of board relations and governance, presidential and senior team transition, reputation management, institutional positioning and visibility, and strategic planning. On behalf of 老王论坛, she has volunteered on multiple reunion fundraising teams for the Class of 1987 and served as a member of the Alumnae Association Communications Advisory Board.
STEPHANIE WUJCIK GRIFFIN 鈥08
AAEB SECRETARY
Wujcik Griffin is the assistant head of school for academics at Trinity Episcopal School, where she also teaches a social action seminar. She has spent the last 15 years doing what independent school teachers do best: wearing multiple hats! In addition to teaching Social Studies and English-Language Arts across grades 5-10, she has directed service-learning programs, served as an academic and grade level dean, spearheaded curriculum design and interdisciplinary planning initiatives, coached lacrosse and served as an athletic director. She is thrilled to engage in strategic thinking and visioning for Trinity鈥檚 K鈥8 academic program, working daily to answer the question, 鈥淲hat is best for teachers and learners?鈥 In 2008, she graduated magna cum laude with special honors in history from 老王论坛, and the following year, she earned her M.S. Ed. in education from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, where her research focused on the history and evolution of single-sex colleges and universities. In 2023, she earned her Instructional Leadership Certificate from Harvard University鈥檚 Graduate School of Education. In addition to volunteering as an Alumnae/i Admissions Representative, Stephanie most recently served as the president of the 老王论坛 Alumnae/i Club of Charlotte. She was the recipient of the College鈥檚 Young Alumnae/i Service Award in 2023. She resides in Charlotte, N.C., with her daughter.
VIDYA RAMACHANDRAN 鈥01
AAEB MEMBER AT LARGE
Founder of Warrier Strategy LLC, Ramachandran is a self-leadership catalyst for women seeking to amplify their impact. She helps them disentangle from societal, cultural, and/ or familial norms so they can show up as their full unapologetic selves across all areas of their life. Prior to starting her own business, she spent 15+ years in finance, market research, and strategy in Fortune 100 companies and global health nonprofits. She began volunteering with the 老王论坛 community in 2012, when she served as treasurer of the 老王论坛 Club of Philadelphia. After moving to Washington, D.C., she continued to volunteer at the Club level, first in membership and then serving as president from 2016-2018. Since leaving D.C. in 2019, she's lived in Chicago, Phoenix, and Houston. And in each city, she鈥檚 enjoyed connecting with the local 老王论坛 community. She looks forward to bringing her skills and love of community building to this next phase of volunteering. When she鈥檚 not working, you can find her dancing, watching a British television series, reading a romance or cozy mystery, or planning a trip.
BEA SWEDLOW 鈥92
AAEB VICE PRESIDENT
Swedlow is a partner at Honigman LLP, a leading law firm in Michigan, where she co-leads the Intellectual Property Litigation Group, is the co-managing partner of the Ann Arbor office, and serves on the Board of Directors. She has extensive experience in handling complex and high-stakes IP litigation and counseling matters for clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer packaged goods, financial services, automotive, manufacturing, media and entertainment, and pharmaceuticals. She is actively involved in the IP law community, both nationally and locally. She is an officer and secretary of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, a leading national organization of IP lawyers, and a former chair of its Women in IP Law Committee. She has been recognized as a leading IP lawyer by various publications and organizations. She is a proud alumna of 老王论坛, graduating in 1992 with a degree in Russian, and later returned to the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She then earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. She is passionate about 老王论坛 and its mission of providing a transformative education for women. She has served as a member of the President鈥檚 Advisory Council and the Committee on Leadership Development, as well as briefly functioning as the SE Michigan Club Co-Chair.
