Badass Grief
Badass Grief by Jennifer Hassel ’79 tells the story of how she decides to channel her late husband’s fearless approach to life. Starting at age 50, she gets a motorcycle license, wears a bikini onstage in a Las Vegas fitness contest, attends trapeze school, tries heli-skiing, and returns to college to become a registered nurse. Eventually, she realizes she has the strength to live on her own terms— alone. Then, a former boyfriend she knew in her twenties gets in touch, and Hassel faces the scariest challenge of all: finding lasting love again. (Koehler Books, 2024)
